Campus Safety Remains at the Center of Lauren McCluskey’s Lawsuit

The McCluskey family prepared a second lawsuit against the University of Utah, alleging that failures by university police and housing officials contributed to Lauren McCluskey’s preventable death. The lawsuit argued that repeated reports of stalking, harassment, and relationship violence were not handled appropriately and raised concerns about gender discrimination in the university’s response. Beyond seeking accountability, the family’s goal was to promote lasting campus safety reforms and ensure future students receive the protection and support they deserve.
