With the Race for Campus Safety in Pullman, Washington and Salt Lake City, Utah approaching quickly, this year, there’s a powerful new way to make an impact. Runners can now launch their own fundraisers to support the Lauren McCluskey Foundation’s mission to improve the response to relationship violence and stalking on college campuses. Whether you’re joining us in-person or running virtually, this new fundraising feature gives every runner and walker the chance to go beyond the finish line and bring lasting change to campuses across the country.

What’s new in 2025?

Individuals and teams can set up personalized fundraising pages as part of their Race for Campus Safety registration. The peer-to-peer system, managed by RunSignup, makes it easy to:

  • Create individual fundraising pages with personalized goals and messages
  • Form or join team fundraisers to pool efforts with friends, clubs, or student groups
  • Earn Rewards for hitting certain milestones like number of donors or total dollars raised
  • Link your page with Facebook to expand your reach and get credit for every donation

Whether you’re running in the 1K, 5K, 10K, or virtually from anywhere in the world as a part of the Race for Campus Safety, you can now rally your community around the cause and help support Lauren McCluskey Foundation programs that improve campus safety.

How to Set Up Your Individual Fundraiser

Setting up your fundraiser is easy and flexible—whether you’re registering for the race, already signed up, or simply want to support the cause without running. You can create a personalized fundraising page, set a goal, share your story, and start collecting donations in just a few clicks. There are three simple ways to get started, depending on how you’d like to participate.

Option 1: Activate your Fundraiser During Race Registration

The easiest way to get started is during your race registration:

  • Go to the Race Website for the city you want to participate in. Through our website you’ll navigate to the appropriate event from our event landing page and select “Register now”
  • Click Sign Up for either the race in Pullman or Salt Lake City
  • Navigate through registration and when you reach the donation page, click Become a Fundraiser
  • Set your Fundraiser name, goal, and personal message
  • Complete your registration, your fundraising page will go live immediately
  • Share your link with friends, family, classmates, or coworkers, and start fundraising

Option 2: Add a Fundraiser After You Register

Whether you’re participating in the 1K, 5K, 10K, or virtual event you can activate your fundraiser after registration.

  • Login to your RunSignUp account activated when you registered for the race
  • Go to your Profile and then “My Registered Races”
  • Find the Race for Campus Safety and click Manage next to the event
  • In the left-hand menu, click Fundraiser to begin setup
  • Follow the prompts to create your personal fundraising page

Option 3: Fundraise without Running

  • Visit the Race Website for the city you want to participate in. Through our website you’ll navigate to the appropriate event from our event landing page and select “Register now”
  • Click “Become a Fundraiser” in the upper section of the page.
  • Enter your details and your page will be created.

You’ll have access to the same tools to share your page, track progress, and engage your community.

Team Fundraisers

Want to rally your student group, workplace, or family around the cause? Team fundraisers are a great way to work together toward a common goal. When creating your personal fundraiser, you’ll have the option to start or join a team. Team pages include:

  • A shared fundraising goal and message
  • A custom team URL and image
  • An optional donor list and goal thermometer
  • The ability for others to join your team later, or for the team to be managed by a captain.

To leave a fundraising team, go to your fundraiser settings, select ‘No Fundraising Team’ from the dropdown, and save changes.

Linking your page with Facebook

RunSignup fundraisers can be synced directly with Facebook Fundraising, so every donation you collect on Facebook counts toward your RunSignup total.

To connect your accounts:

  • Log into RunSignup and go to Profile and then Fundraising.
  • Click on your fundraiser name.
  • Click “Create Your Fundraiser on Facebook.”
  • If you’re already logged into Facebook, your page will be created automatically.

From there, share updates, and build momentum across platforms. Your Facebook Fundraising total will automatically sync directly with your RunSignUp individual and team fundraiser goals.

When you choose to fundraise for the Race for Campus Safety, you’re supporting our work to create safer college campuses for students across the country. Every dollar raised helps expand the Lauren McCluskey Foundation’s work in education, advocacy, research, and an improved response to relationship violence and stalking.
