Register to Help Raise Awareness at the 2026 Race for Campus Safety
The Lauren McCluskey Foundation is excited to invite communities in Washington and Utah to join us this fall for the 2026 Lauren McCluskey Race for Campus Safety. These family-friendly events bring together runners, walkers, students, families, and supporters to honor Lauren McCluskey’s legacy while helping grow our efforts to improve response.
With race distances for all ages and abilities, community activities, and opportunities to support an important cause, both events offer meaningful ways to get involved.
Pullman Race for Campus Safety
The Pullman Race for Campus Safety returns on Saturday, October 17, featuring 1K, 5K, and 10K events along with family activities, entertainment, and community engagement throughout the morning.
Participants will experience an improved start to the course this year. New this year, the start of the course has been redesigned to create a smoother experience for participants. Instead of turning left out of the parking lot, participants will now turn right onto Grimes Way and head east toward Lincoln Drive. The new route is expected to significantly reduce congestion early in the races and provide a safer, more comfortable start for everyone. View the new course.
The Pullman and Moscow Moose Lodges will be serving food at the event again this year. Regular and veggie burgers will be available for purchase during registration, with proceeds benefiting the Lauren McCluskey Foundation’s programs and initiatives. We are grateful to the Pullman and Moscow Moose Lodges for their continued support.
Teams are encouraged to participate together, whether representing a workplace, school, community organization, family, or group of friends. Several longtime partners will also return this year, including the Washington State Nurses Association, whose nurses will staff aid stations and the first aid tent, Swire Coca-Cola with beverages and activities, Washington Trust Bank with their mascot W.T. Bank, Ziply Fiber supporting the volunteer effort, local student organizations, and many other community supporters who help make the event possible. Utah Race for Campus Safety
The Utah Race for Campus Safety returns to Salt Lake City on Halloween morning, October 31, offering 1K, 5K, and 10K events alongside family-friendly activities, and entertainment.
Taking place on Halloween morning, this year’s event will feature festive, family-friendly activities and race-day experiences for participants of all ages. Participants are welcome and encouraged to come dressed in costume as they join friends, family, and neighbors in supporting campus safety initiatives. Specific Halloween-themed activities and attractions will be announced in September.
Race day will also feature special mascot appearances. Bumble the Bee from the Salt Lake Bees, along with Leo and Cleo from Real Salt Lake, are currently scheduled to attend and help create a fun and welcoming atmosphere for participants of all ages. Additional mascot guests will likely be announced as race day approaches.
The event continues to grow thanks to the support of businesses, organizations, and community partners who help bring the race to life while supporting the Foundation’s work throughout the year.
