Campus safety failures Identified Before Lauren McCluskey’s Murder
An independent review found that communication breakdowns among University of Utah departments contributed to shortcomings in the response to Lauren McCluskey’s reports before her murder. The report identified problems with information sharing, coordination, and victim support while recommending improvements to training, communication, and campus safety procedures. The findings became an important catalyst for institutional reforms designed to better protect students experiencing stalking, harassment, and relationship violence.
