University of Utah Students Advocate Change and for Greater Campus Safety

University of Utah students organized a campus walkout in 2019 to demand greater transparency, accountability, and improvements to campus safety following Lauren McCluskey’s murder. Students raised concerns about how reports of stalking and threats were handled and called for stronger support systems, better training, and meaningful changes within campus safety programs. Their advocacy became part of a larger conversation about creating safer college environments and ensuring students’ concerns are heard.
