Everyone can listen, believe, and respond when someone asks for help. Jill McCluskey turned that into the Lauren’s Promise pledge: “I will listen to and believe you, if someone is threatening you.” This promise offers support to victims and their families when they need it most.
February 12, 2026, marks what would have been Lauren McCluskey’s 29th birthday. After she was not listened to or believed, Lauren was tragically murdered on October 22, 2018. To honor her legacy, the Foundation hosts Promise with Purpose, an annual campaign focused on growing awareness of Lauren’s Promise and raising the critical funding needed to share it widely.
In addition to our regular efforts, in 2026 we will be expanding the reach of Lauren’s Promise by increasing its adoption on college and university syllabi and improving how stickers and cards are distributed internationally.
You can support this year’s campaign by:
- Making Lauren’s Promise—pledge to listen and believe.
- Donating $29 to help provide stickers, cards, and educational materials for individuals and universities. Thanks to generous matching donors, your gift will be doubled.
- Creating a peer‑to‑peer fundraiser to involve your friends, family, and community.
- Sharing the campaign on social media or requesting free Lauren’s Promise stickers and cards.
Listening, believing, and responding can save lives. We invite you to join us in turning promise into purpose.
The campaign page will be regularly updated as we get closer to February 12 with more details about the campaign. Early donations are welcome, will be matched, and will count toward the campaign total and thermometer.
